THE TURNING POINT: BALLET WORKSHOPS

Lauren is former principal dancer with internationally renowned Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet of San Francisco, California. In addition to her nine years with Alonzo King’s, she danced with other leading US companies such as San Francisco Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. In 1999, she was presented with the Princess Grace Award for dance.
Both workshops will address classical ballet technique from an American perspective as taught at New York’s American Ballet Theatre (the company performing in the film The Turning Point)
Level 1/Level 2
11.00 - 12.30 £9 (£7.50)
Beginners will be introduced to the basic technique at the barre and then progress
to fundamental centre combinations that capture the grace and athleticism of
American Ballet Theatre.
Level 3/Level 4
13.00 - 15.00 £12 (£9)
Intermediate and advanced students will focus more on centre work emphasising
turns and jumps with the option of pointe work. This class is designed for
dancers with some experience. You will be expected to know all positions and
terminology.
